2015 Recipients:

Justin "JT" Espejo -

JT will attend Southwestern Assemblies of God University and study church ministry.  JT is the valedictorian of this year's senior class that has excelled in all areas of school life.

He has served as a volunteer to clean and improve various areas of the physical school plant, including the painting of the iconic "bear paws" on Bear Paw Rd. leading up to the school.  JT has also served as the school mascot during his senior season, chaired a food drive to feed those in need in our community and was the producer of the school's lip dub video that is used to promote the school.

JT is proud to be a (soon-to-be) graduate of Sylvan Hills High and has plans on returning to to help our mentor students or campus and serve wherever there may be a need.  JT states that Sylvan Hills is an amazing place for students both in education and maturation.

Donnie "Ray" Davis -

Ray will attend Arkansas State University and major in Computer Science.  Ray has been an outstanding student at Sylvan Hills High that has challenged himself by completing (9) AP classes in the past two years.  Ray earned college qualifying scores on all five exams that he took last year in Advanced Placement and looks to earn qualifying scores in the four AP classes in which he tested this year.  This accomplishment on his AP exams will allow him to enter college with (27) credits and give him a head start compared to most college freshmen.

In addition to Ray's academic accolades, he was a stand-out performer in the Sylvan Hills High School Band.  He was honored as being Jazz All-Region, All-Region, and All-State.  As a trumpet player, Ray earned the top spot in region as the first band, first chair honoree, showing other schools that the Sylvan Hills Band program was one to be reckoned with.

After graduation, Ray plans or returning to our campus to work and mentor other students in the band, to help them rise above the standards.
